Allegra Versace Battling Anorexia
Designer Donatella Versace has publicly supported the increasing pressure on the fashion industry to discourage super-thin models, but the struggles young women face with eating disorders has now hit home for the outspoken Italian.
According to People magazine, Versace’s 20-year-old daughter, Allegra, is currently undergoing treatment for anorexia.
There had been suspicion for months that the younger, uber-slim Versace was battling an eating disorder, and her mother confirmed the news in a statement released earlier this week.
“She is receiving the best medical care possible to help overcome this illness and is responding well,” Versace said.

people like her are supposed to set an example for young girls, like myself.what does she want? she has money, she has fame, she has a family, and friends and she’s beautiful…so why girls like and starve themselves to death? im just so tired of young girls suffering from anorexia and bulimia,i have friends that are influenced by people like her to be thin and slim and “perfect”, the reality is nobody is perfect, they persuade teen girls to think that being thin is beautiful and glamorous, but that;s not it being beautiful is so much more than your physical appearence or the way you look, or the number on the scale or how many calories you take in, it;s about loving yourself for who you are and accepting your body the way it is and kowing that if people do not accept you for who you are or what you eat then they are not worth your time. Being beautiful is being able to see beyond the imperfections and seeing the beauty of being imperfect. I hope she gets better :]
Well I am Ana. I agree with this lifestyle and love it. It’s a pain in the case, but Versace’s daughter has lived in a world of models, fashion, weight etc. Her mom is a designer and her daughter takes all that information.
Now she wants to be in this circle.
Obviously, this case is over this way.
Do you think this girl wants to be anorexic? You think she is doing this on purpose? She is just like any other girl or woman whether she has money and fame or not! The pressure of being famous often makes it much much harder to deal with anorexia and bulimia than your average citizen. No on chooses this and no one can do this on purpose. It is just how her brain copes with all of the stress and pressure and it’s not fair to say that “people like her are supposed to set an example for young girls”. This girl is trying her best to just get through a day and thats all you can say for her? She’s trying her best. Find some new celebrity to base your life off of. No one in this world can just run their life how they want to run it. We all have to be just like someone else… but if you really want to base your entire life off of someone else, she is getting treatment and that is something so extremely hard to go through that unless you go through it yourself, you have no right to have an opinion about it. She’s trying to fix a problem and that is all anyone should ever ask for.
she isn’t beautuful she’s crazy
hello!I’m from Romania, a country not very rich, but very famous for its beautiful girls.I had myself some weight problems and I was very complexed, until I realised that true beauty glows from the inside.and who loves us loves us for what we are.if we need to weigh 40 pounds in order to be loved or feel happy, we should consider going to a therapist.
first of all, anorexia is a mental disorder and is really hard to control. Am pretty sure that she is not doing this on purpose. The same as struggling with peer pressure. Our society is what make people like her turn this way. You are to picky and too judgemental. God made us all equal and we should all just have a positive image on us and others
we are from south africa and we honestly think that thin will never be in and that it is a waste of time. we also think that alegra should be with her family and friends so she can get over this battle. we think it is digusting to look like this and women are beatutiful with all our curves. oviously living in africa women are more accepted for having cuves not for looking like a frame of bones after all only a dog wants a bone.
I have had bulimia anorexia since i was 14.im now 33 n c no way out.if u cant beat it,join it.its my way of coping in this terrifyn world.people like her n pics like this do affect me.i wish i could b normal.ive fought hard2b,bt always fail.its an intense complicated disease, which i no is hard4ppl who dnt suffer frm eds dnt undastand,bt it makes perfect sense2me.
no one chooses to become anorexic, regardless of background, it has to do with control. She was left with a huge legacy from her uncle, and the versace name… its not attention seeking its deeper, its control of something that cant be shared
When will people realize that they are trying to please a “So called perfect image” from a really imperfect society. God made us in his image. Thats perfect enough. I’m a good football player from the United States and I see the bad effects that society has on people all the time. I was 86.2% muscle my senior year in high school during the football season. During the off season I’m not as built, but people still love me and I love them. I don’t feel any less better than during football season. I pray that she gets better and hopefully people like her stop trying to fill desire that only God can fill. God Bless her and her family.
hola atodos
es impotente ver como estas modelos tan hermosas llegan aestos extremos con tal de satisfacer no a ellas mismas sino satisfacer a la sociedad y me siento aun mas impotente al ver que en mi pais colombia no hacen nada para evitarlo.
gracias
